We Are Not What You Think We Are

First, I want to start off by saying, Thor, Shine Sweet Freedom is my fucking jam. As soon as I get back, we will iBlaze and both rock the fuck out to that shit.

There are lots of remixes to this song, no one else should bother to make a remix. Calvin wins, he's a genius and has now officially fully redeemed himself to me for sucking live in New York.

Also, I am still fluent in electro, everyone else should probably brush up on their vocab. (Except you Thor, obviously)

Jones, bump this in the basement for me, I Love You, first chance I get to take a vacation, I'm flying to the kailodge. Master shump shall commence.

This is off his album, Ready For The Weekend, just came out recently, it's bomb, I just bought it. You should too, especially if you bump Ready For The Weekend and Katy Perry remix on the reg's, don't be a douche.

Good & Bad News W Frankmusik

Bad News first: Frankmusik's album came out, it's half really dope, but of that half, we've already heard most of the tracks. Also, the other half are primarily not dope in my opinion for one reason, they are ballads. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on them simply because they're ballads. I respect the fact that my boy Franky may have wanted to express his feelings through ballad, it's just that the new crazy genre of synth-pop that he created is what I love him for and I think there is still so much more he could do with it and that's he more creative than putting that many ballads on his album.

If you're not bumping Acid Girls ft. Frankmusik: Wake Up (I posted it a while back), I feel bad for you.

Good News: There are some dope ones we have not heard yet.

Right click these and press save as...

Frankmusik: Gotta Boyfriend

Frankmusik: Time Will Tell

I love these songs, you're still the man Frankmusik.

Dance With Me

Isn't that an incredible picture? I think so. It's actually a galaxy named Andromeda and it's visible with the naked eye. In the fall, if you face eastward while looking up at the night sky there's a giant box-shaped constellation named Pegasus. Two of the "legs" on the Pegasus are actually another constellation called Andromeda (I believe). Above one of the stars in the constellation is another tiny, faint white ball. That bad boy is the Andromeda galaxy, which is what you're staring at right now.

That has nothing to do with this post but I've had the picture saved on my desktop for quite a while now and I figured it was time to share my amazement with all of you. My regards to whatever telescope or astronomer sitting under an observatory's camera took this.

The following is a little song that falls in the same category as Diamond Cut's Teardrops. Smooth and catchy, it talks about dancing among other things. Truly a sweet summer sound that will leave your eardrums ringing with content.

Paul - Shine Sweet Freedom

And what a title he has chosen as well. Oh sweet, sweet freedom.

Walk with me, walk with me, dance with me, shine the light on me...

The Demo Tape

One last post before it'll be a minute before you hear from me again.

P.S. I always thought this picture was too inappropriate, but in honor of CuDi and my favorite word ever:

Hello It's The Martian
Space Jam Jordans
I want this shit 4eva
Wake up and smell the garden
Fresher than the harvest
Step up to the target
If I had one guess then I guess I'm just New Orleans
And I will neva stop, like I'm runnin from the cops
Hopped up in my car and told my chauffeur to the TOP
Life is such a fuckin roller coaster... then it Drops
But what shall I scream for, this is MY theme park
My mind shine even when my thoughts seem dark
Pistol on my side, you don't wanna hear that thing talk
Let the King talk
Check the price and pay attention
LiL Wayne, thats what they gotta say or mention
I'm like Nevada in the middle of the summer
I'm restin' in the lead
I need a pillow... and a cover
shhhhhhh....
My foots sleepin on the gas
No brake pads
No such thing as last

Late, But Loving This

Wiz & Currensy murked it. Mad late, but I've been busy, so fuck you.

Wiz & Curren$y: How Fly (Mixtape)

Reporting Live From The Belly Of The Beast

First off, I want to say welcome to my boy Thor. Shizzy Baby has a lot of shit going on these days and as a result, Thor, a mate of mine who knows what's good and if you haven't already realized, is magical with words has joined the roster. Thankfully he's been hitting us with crack left and right.

I'm currently getting involved in the Aussie electro scene in Sydney and figured I'd take a minute to update with some of the special things that are happening in the world of hip hop.

CuDi may be better than Drizzy, but the competition is starting to get too close to call.

Drake ft. Nipsey Hussle: Killers

Jay-Z ft. Drake: Off That (Prod. by Timbaland)

Yes, this is real. If you're a real Weezy or Drake fan, you recognize the beat. If not, it's ok, you're still allowed to like it.
Drake ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem: Forever

Again, if you're a Drizzy or Weezy fan, you recognize the instrumental, newness nevertheless:

Birdman ft. Drake & Lil Wayne: Money 2 Blow

JD Era ft. Drake: Rock & Roll

Cudder album drop Sep. 15th (I guarantee it will be the best hip hop album of the year) Yes, Blueprint 3 is coming out this year.

KiD CuDi: That Girl

KiD CuDi: Follow Me

Weezy!

Omarion ft. Lil Wayne: I Get It In

Wale, my boy.

Lights Out

You've probably heard the original version of this song on the new Bud Light Lime commercials. Anheuser-Busch should have stuck with (not to be patriotic or anything) their red/white and blue cans. The only thing worse I can think of than Bud Light Lime is Tostitos Hint of Lime tortilla chips. What a joke. If I wanted lime in my beer, or on my chips, I would take the necessary precautions toward enjoyment of said flavors myself.

Regardless, I now unfortunately associate Satigold's gorgeous song with the stupid animated 30 second short that hits me on the head every 2 minutes between NASCAR recaps and Sportscenter top 10 lists where baseball makes, well, any of the top 10. (c'mon ESPN, you can do better. Much better. Check out Fox Soccer Network for a hot second, or your European channels. Feel me?)

But luckily, as I was bouncing between download links and iTunes the other day I was hit in the head with something much more delectable. From the first bump of the bass to the end of the song when Santigold's voice can be heard trailing off singing "turn out the lights..." the Tepr remix leaves you wondering, if pot's not legal, should music like this be?

Without further ado, and there's been plenty already, I present you with something that will keep your feet tapping (even at work) and your girl moving (under the sheets).

Santigold - Lights Out (Tepr Emo Remix)

Now I, too, can turn off my lights

Down Undah

Why is there a picture of the Sydney Opera House? Other than the fact that it's a work of sheer architectural brilliance, it is probably the single most widely used pictorial representation of Australia, and while this post has nothing to do with Australia, it has everything to do with going there. This one's for you homie. You know who you are.

David Guetta and Kid Cudi - Memories
Right click, save as and turn the volume up.

And you know, just because, I'm gonna make this one a special double post. I had work this morning at 8:30 but was up until 3 cruising the blogosphere and now I'm straight swimming in pure FIRE. And what better way to experience fire than to share it with all of you. Don't ask any questions, just download, spin that volume knob all the way to the right, and push play.

First up is a track from a friend of ours who's been mentioned quite a bit before. His name is Grum and the song's called Hearbeats. Oh, by the way, it's the extended mix. (is there another one?)

Grum - Heartbeats Extended

The next one is by this dude Edwin Van Cleef. Weird name, great music. Add in the remix by my boy Justin Faust and you've got yourself a gem.

Edwin Van Cleef I Want You (Justin Faust Remix)

And finally, the best, of course, for last. If you can still hear yourself think, either find some new speakers or seriously, turn that shit all the way up. I'm going to rock out to this as I post it just so I know what I'm getting myself, and you guys, all into.

Diamond Cut - Teardrops

Editor's note: If you've heard Stardust - Music Sounds Better, I'm of the school of thought that says saying to someone "oh baby, the music sounds better with you" is essentially paying that person the ultimate compliment. (In other words, ladies, when I say this to you, you will be swooning.) Teardrops does the same thing, just listen for the "and the music don't feel like it did when I felt it with you."

Now there's love if I've ever heard it.

FM ATTACK

FM Attack is this guy from Vancouver. His recently released 9 track album, Dreamatic (aptly titled) is available for purchase on iTunes. I recommend you holler at it. Seriously. I just did and I have been listening to it all night (all morning now, I suppose). He's like a much more mellowed out version of Futurecop! and creates a very dreamy, (I told you it was aptly titled) let's-go-walk-on-some-clouds kind of feeling that is very difficult to say no to. Seduction in a sound clip. But enough already, here are some teasers for you. The best is on the rest of the album though.

FM ATTACK - Sleepless Nights

FM ATTACK - Disco Attack

FM ATTACK - Take Me Away

No Reasons

I have a little something I think you'll like. But you're gonna want to get in your car first. Especially if it's a forest green 1970 Chevelle with 24s. Or if you'll be driving north on I-380 this weekend. Either way...

Vega - No Reasons

Dat New Newwwwwww

Haven't had internet access. But I made it onto http://elbo.ws baby!! Fuck yes. So I haven't posted in a while, but even though I've only been listening to CuDi, I luhhhhh all these songs.

Kid CuDi: Dat New New

Discovery: I Want You Back
(Right click link and press save as...)

Lil Wayne: Life's Too Short

Lil Wayne: Bad

YAK is for LOVERS

And so are these songs:
A little softer, a little mellower, but if you know anything you know a little bit goes a long way. I live on the idea that music is the most visceral form of communication and the most visceral form of art. If a picture is worth a thousand words then these songs will knock dictionaries off your shelf (if you haven't rocked the boat just a little bit already).

Fred Falke - Back to Stay

Priors - What You Need

Mylo - In My Arms
This is one of those tracks you know you've heard before even though you didn't know what it was. Right click and save as...

Friendly Fires - Jump in the Pool (Thin White Duke Remix)
A little weird perhaps but as James said, "Friendly Fires and Thin White Duke? What could go wrong?" Well put sir

Booty Luv

Dunno why I haven't posted this, sometimes I just forget to post ones that I think are real. Massey sent me this earlier this summer and I always listen to it.
