Support good music. 10 bucks more than well worth it. Attention Deficit in stores now. I don't do reviews, my detailed analysis wouldn't be a worthwhile description of the music. It's music. This is all I have to say: the album is really dope, you can tell he put his heart and soul into it, and if you like fresh, intelligent music, pick it up.

Leftover cut that didn't make the album.

I'm Having Visions of us Breaking Everything on our way out of Town

You know what they say about big titles...

Earlier I posted a little something by Benjamin Diamond, remixed by Alan Braxe. So I did some searching and came across some tunes from Mr. Diamond's album. This is one of my favorites, and the only two words I need to describe it are: love and music.

Benjamin Diamond - Little Scare

And then I have a jam by a group I know everyone's pretty tight with these days, Van She. It's an older track but these songs are like fine wine, ya dig?

Van She - Changes (G.L.O.V.E.S remix)

This part of the post is where I slow it down a little bit, because Thor knows we all need to unwind every now and then. Or all the time. Whatever. Dragonette's "Pick Up the Phone" and "Easy" have been the subjects of blogosphere remixes, so I thought I'd put one up here that sort of transcends genres. I like this version because it dumbs it down and lets you hear the lyrics. Which are where this post's title comes from.

Dragonette - Pick up the Phone (Beaumont remix)

As a side note, Beaumont is a legit music producer as well, and they, or he, or she, has/have done remixes of some of our favorites before. I smell a future post coming.

Last but not least, oh definitely not least, I have for you a remix of someone I never heard of before by a pair of producers I had never heard of before. But I decided to let their song jump out of my speakers and reverberate around my room, just for a little bit, just to see how it felt. And it felt super chilled, and very good. It's funny that we use the word chill to describe that feeling, because when I'm super chill I always manage to get that warm fuzzy feeling all up in this.

Anyway, just because they're from Sweden, and because their remix is bomb, I'm going to share my warm fuzzy feeling with you. And no, Jones, that's not just the scotch talking.

Clipse ft. Cam'Ron & Pharrel: Popular Demand

Breakin' the Chains of Love

Oh what a lovely day.

This is a song for one of those unexpectedly sunny days where you find that you can't be bothered to do much else but grab a chair, set up shop on the patio (or roof, or driveway, whatever) and let the speakers do their job.

Fitz and the Tantrums - Breakin the Chains of Love (Keenhouse remix)

Oh, and, Check out the meteor shower tonight (the peak of it is supposed to be tomorrow around 2PM Pacific, I think, so unfortunately we here in the states will have to settle for checking it out a little earlier) I think the Spanish phrase for the phenomenon is pretty legit, as well (Lluvia de estrellas, which means rain of stars, or star-rain, depending on how you look at it).

Enjoy the jams (because this post is inspired, in part, by Shizzybaby's post just a little while ago) and the stars. And don't forget to bring the music with you tonight.

It's Easy, Hard as it Looks

Shizzybaby, I feel you. Why worry about things that are beyond our control? And when it seems, so often at least, that the circumstances that bind us are beyond our control, then, really, why worry? At all? (For the record - that is a question better left unanswered).

"So, I turned off the ignition and turned up the music and climbed on the roof with him. Lying down, we looked up with stupid grins at the clouds and the tops of the trees. The clouds moved, twisting back and forth, as if moving to the song that floated up from the car speakers, in along the waving tree branches and brought – spinning – the entire skyline to life. And as we stared, and as the song built, the clouds twisted themselves into kaleidoscopes of geometric shapes. They were figures in stained-glass windows that had pulled themselves from the iron castings around them and had begun to move, twisting off centuries of stagnant existence. I knew the figures were from windows of European cathedrals. And I knew they were also the writhing bodies from behind the windows under the train station in Brussels; their curling limbs had been frozen, in my mind, under the glows of fluorescent lights, exactly as if they had been stained-glass windows themselves. The song, in the background, had been stretching, reaching for that perfect rhythm, that harmonic crescendo of all its individual sounds, and now it burst. Whatever spewed from the break floated up and shattered the dancing stained-glass above, sending them hurtling toward us in a curtain of cascading shards. The faster the shards fell the more it felt we were moving upward, toward the broken windows in the sky. It felt good to move."

So this producer, Das Glow, was born in Moscow where he was found as an orphaned infant on the steps of the Cathedral that is the burial place of the Tsars. Eventually, he is able to buy mixing equipment and make his own record.(info: rcrdlbl.com)

Pretty unbelievable story.

I found two songs by him at first. One that I liked but didn't love (which is not to his discredit as a musician - my tastes and his sounds just didn't agree completely) and then this one. This one, well, let's just say whomever he was waking up with must have been a phenomenal influence.

Le Corps Mince De Francois: Bitch Of The Bitches (Russ Chimes Remix)

This brings us to a new installment. I've finally been doing this long enough to consider myself a legend.
What am I saying?
I always considered myself a legend.
Regardless, I'm straying from the point. I'm going to add a section to my posts titled,

"Vintage Shizzy Baby"

You can add "Jam", "Shump Helicopter" etc to the end of that phrase if you choose. Decision is yours. So, in this section, I will revisit one of those legspreading jams I unleashed at some point in the past both for my new listeners and in an effort to contradict what I said above. I like to consider myself an anomaly, hopefully you do too.

My Favorite Songs

I'm going to start doing this from now on. I post a lot of stuff, I legitimately like all of it, but there is always a core rotation to define what's going in my world at that time. Here's what it is right now. Make the same playlist and more likely than not, we're both rocking out to the same song right now.

Cheers

Test Whether Or Not You Have Good Taste

This song is a way for you to test if you have good taste in music. If you can understand that this song is really special and that you should embrace it and listen to it all the time, you have good taste in music.

If not, you may wake up one day. But, in the meantime, sucks to be you.

Running for the Thrill of It

ShizzyBaby informed me the other night of his latest electro binge. The discussion continued and I decided upon the phrase "high and happy" to wrap/sum things up.

While I'm on the topic of friends, I'd like to acknowledge the recent discoveries of another good amigo of mine, featured below.

I, too, wanna lie in bed and do anything, or nothing (including playing FIFA 2010), while listening to these tracks.

And, while we're on the subject of listening to tracks, especially being in bed while high and happy and listening to tracks, I think all you faithful readers out there deserve a little something to wake up to tomorrow and wind your Sunday down with when the evening comes. Chances are, I'll be doing similarly.

Besides, the best thing to do in the midst of a full-on music binge is find ways to continue and elevate it.

With that I add my contributions to the electrobinge that I think has spread much farther than to our two heads.

Enjoy:

This first one has the same sort of feel as Cruising does, and is definitely a track to roll the windows down to. Among other things. Great/weird sounds goin' on throughout and a lovely sort of, let's-forget-about-all-this-and-get-away feeling. While the "all this" is up for discussion, the forget and get away never is and I don't believe ever will be.

Fabian - Heatwave

The second one is by a group whom I'm sure you are all familiar with: Empire of the Sun. Quirky but smooth, at once careless head-nodding in a warm summer breeze and sit and wait, watch as the world unfolds before you introspective, these guys are sure to provide the extra push you need to slip once again into your own beautiful delusion, over and over again.

The F is for Falke

Weezy F has been on a crazy run of late that has had me making it seem like this is no longer the premier home of the the freshest electro that just allows you to channel new levels of euphoria. False, try me. You could go to an electronic music blog and try to sift through all the crap that they post also, or, you could simply download electro when I post it. I won't waste your time.

Nicki Minaj Is Special

Honestly, there is so much music that I love so much right now that I feel like I can't really listen to other shit too much. But, nevertheless, if you couldn't tell, I love the feeling of hearing new shit, because to me, there's nothing like a song makes you feel the first time you hear it. That's honestly the only way you should judge it. There are countless examples, Lollipop and In The Club stick out in my mind (this is is all stream of conscious, I thought about it for two seconds, don't hate) (Smiles). So, anyways, both those songs were fucking so sick and totally lifted me the first time I heard them, now, feels kinda cheesy, doesn't matter what it is in life, too much of something, excess, that is, never good. Also, while there is some music that remains timeless, special as it is, is very rare, and only time will tell, in the meantime there is plenty of art inspired by the moment we live in that serves well to fill in the silence and to encapsulate what's going on in our lives today.

So, for that reason, some more heaters that, honestly, are real fresh and make me feel good when I listen to them right now. Are they as ill as a vintage Weezy F track or a Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, ..._____ (fill in the blank)?

No.

But, this new Game, if you love rap, that's all I'm saying. The Game, that's my duuuude, Red Album. (Chuckles). Soowoo.

The Game: Big Money

The Game ft. Gucci Manne & Timbaland: Krazy

Wale ft. J. Cole & Melanie Fiona: Beautiful Bliss (Last Wale I post, get the album)

Cruising

I don't know if any of you like driving. Cruising, perhaps. With the music up and the windows down on a nice day I can't think of many things better.

I'm sure that is what Mr. Stephen Falken had going through his head, too when he came up with Crusing, the, what I will call, Cruiser's Anthem.

Sorry for the brevity, but some things are better done than said.
