Lifelike

Lifelike is, you guessed it, French. Somehow this country manages to pop out incredible producers time and again. To my friends across the Atlantic: thank you. For hours upon ours of ear-splitting ecstasy. Seriously.

These are the last three tracks I've downloaded by Lifelike. I don't know how old they are but I do know that I spend a lot of time on the train every morning to work nodding my head back and forth. With my stunna shades on.

I judge songs on their ability to take me somewhere new, to change how I'm feeling. To, in all essence, create, however momentarily, a new world. These three tracks take me to that exact moment in time when, looking out over some gorgeous coastline, snow-studded mountains, or Gothic-spire riddled city square, the moment of overwhelming nostalgia from knowing this is one of my last seconds in that place sets in and, taking that first long draw from the blunt, I close my eyes, reopen them and let my anxiety float away with the smoke, and ingrain forever in my memory that most fleeting of all emotional releases.

Wiz Khalifa: Air Born

Drizzayyyyy

Finished version, you'll recognize.

Kevin Cossom ft. Drake: I Get Paper

KiD Fucking CuDi

So as many of you may know, CuDi's album leaked. I haven't said shit cuz I don't want to give tracks off his album away. But, now the album has officially come out, the deluxe version has a really sick DVD by the way.

The album is straight fire, there aren't words for it. It's what you expected if you've been listening to him. An extremely passionate, heartfelt, awesomely creative work of art. Love it.

On that note, one of my favorite tracks from 'Dat Kid From Cleveland' mixtape. Kevin Rudolf's part is...yea...... but, CuDi comes in and I've never heard or imagined someone flowing on a beat like that and just killing it so I bump it allllllll the time.

Sex, Drugs, and a little bit of House

Before I begin, I want to start by throwing a shoutout to my boy DJ Shizzybaby. For the man who showed me I'm so Paid, Big Dog, introduced to me Drake and brought Wiz Khalifa to a sand-covered parking lot near you, his track selection has continued to impress me. And I've never much been one for rap and, or what you youngsters seem to be calling ah, hip-hop, these days. Props, sir. Please continue discovering.

On a related note - I arrived home Friday, or maybe yesterday, from my job at a local coffee shop. (Blows Starbullshit out of the water, by the way. And I can make a mean latte now.) I had been devouring coffee drinks all day and when I got back and sat down all the caffeine caught up with me. Needless to say, I took my shaking hands to the keyboard and hit up the blogosphere in search of some much needed release.

Now, I'm a pretty big Guetta fan (except for his latest album. Not too sexy), but to be honest, Guetta-esque, bass-hammering, pure thunder-on-the-dancefloor type house really just gives me a headache. But I found these two tracks and their bass lines are just smooth enough to give your pounding headache a rest, all while still being able to rock out on the dance floor.

So do yourselves a favor and holler at: (right click, save as, ya dig?)
