I'm a Believer

Friday afternoon with the top off. 6 am mornings on the lakefront.

Yeah. I'm a believer.

September may be fast upon us, but the summer mood continues. May it get you through the week and carry on until long past this coming weekend.

What Went Wrong?

Been listening to this one all weekend.

Very chilled out. Smooth, sexy and mind-altering.

Strange Sensation

Spent the weekend in Napa. Well, 24 hours of it, anyway.

I didn't realize how dressed up people get to go wine tasting, etc, until Saturday afternoon. And let me just say I fell in love about a dozen times I think. But there's one special lady in particular who I just can't manage to get out of my head.

It's sort of like Grum - Can't Shake This Feeling

(Yeah, I know it's been out and circulating for a while, but the timing is appropriate. And timing is everything. Or at least a big thing)

I would say that's the literal version of it. I just can't shake this feeling, really. You should check out the Beaumont remix of it as well.

More importantly, I think this next track is probably about the closest I can provide to an explanation of what's going on in my head. Whatever it might come to represent for you, I think you'll find without fail that it is, at the very least, pure fire. Sweet, warm tingly feeling fire.

Chew Lips - Slick (Neo Tokyo Remix)

Maybe it's just the wine talking

I Don't Wanna Be

I love tequila dude. Big time.

I would venture as far as to say it makes the world around you feel more, well, pleasant.

This is an oldie. A year or so. But It's been sitting in my music folder and spinning on my ipod for far far too long. I think perhaps with this and a little tequila, you'll be feeling better too.

I think.

Feel

To be honest, at first I didn't think much of Brothertiger's "Feel." Played it once or twice at work and left it at that. Today I got home and no one was around so I did the only obvious thing left to do and lit up with a glass of tequila on the roof. Got down, took my dog for a walk, pushed play and somewhere along the way "Feel" came on and though it took me a while to figure out what it was, when I did it was one of those yeah moments when everything just seems to come together, like when your wandering brain waves encounter something on the same wavelength and the involuntary reaction is to nod and smile and keep on walking.

I wasn't sure about this next song either. So I took it home to listen to. Gave it a few chances and next thing you know it's on repeat. Been there since Tuesday.

If you don't like the vocals at least give it until 2 minutes in for a guitaristic synth-riff that's almost Falkian. I don't know about you, but I'm down with any song that starts with "we can dance it all away"

Like There's no Tomorrow

WTF?!?

Ladies and gentlemen, the victims in the aforementioned video need your help! On Wednesday morning, June 23, the United States play their crucial third group-stage game against Algeria. The game starts at 10 am Eastern. Paint your faces, wear your colors, and cheer like there's no tomorrow. Because with anything less than a win, there isn't.

Frederick Carlsson - House

And after the win, we can love like there's no tomorrow.

For the celebration, you can put this next one on. It's a classic tale, one that many of us might know well. But if you're not one for paying attention to vocals/lyrics, then you can just listen as the song slowly builds then bursts into the equivalent of a fireworks show finale. Add this one to the summer playlist, just to let her know how you feel.

Groove Armada - I Won't Kneel (Beaumont Remix)

Thanks Tracasseur, for both of these. Lovin' your stuff.

Heart(s) on Fire

I've been away for a little while.

Jet-setting and bar hopping in Vegas, San Luis Obispo, Jersey, NYC and everywhere in between.
Spent some time helping djshizzybaby write the newest chapter of his adventure; parked myself on a bar stool in a college dive and, most recently, was lost in a pair of eyes that are/were like nothing I have ever seen.

Speaking of, djshizzy - I've tried for hours to find a song I enjoy more than This Velvet Glove and, while the beginning of Otherside and Around the World send tingling sensations down my spine, something about those eyes just gets me every time. Every time.

Something else that gets me every time is summer. Not only is it a time where fellow Leos and myself bask in the glory of our warm sunny days, (yes, they are ours) but I feel as if summer brings out the best in everyone.

And while the season of love is already gorgeous in and of itself, I can't help but feel as if good music still has a way of influencing the sunshine for the better. So I'm starting another playlist. For summer. For love (lost). For top-down rides and the feeling that for the next few months life will be beautiful.

The first addition to our summer sensations playlist comes on the heels of djshizzybaby's post with the wonderful Alan Braxe remix of Visitor. Everything you need to know about this song you'll learn from the title. Enjoy the wind in your hair.

Visitor - Love (Club Edit)

The second song is a remix by a familiar name here and around the blogosphere. And it doesn't fail to disappoint. Let's just say it'll keep you going until Saturday night.

Cassette Club - 4 Me (Beaumont Remix)

The third and final installment for today is a remix of a new found interest of ours, Matt Van Schie. His "Be my Lady" is done up by Canadian producer Hemingway. Though the name is one I've only ever associated with literary genius, I must say the man does a wonderful job of bringing out the summer chill in this one. If 4 Me is the confidence-inspiring foot tapper, Love is the tantalizing promise of something wonderful to come, then the following is the wrap-up. It's the invitation and the acceptance and the moment when the stars align/collide/whatever. And everyone knows, we are all made of stars.

Matt Van Schie - Be My Lady (Hemingway Beach Bossa Mix)

Roll the windows down, and find your love.
